Charles Ramassamy

Dr. Charles Ramasssamy received from the University of Paris V an equivalent of a B.Sc. degree in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, and obtained his Doctorate in Neurosciences from the University of Rouen in 1994. After postdoctoral studies at McGill University, in Dr. Judes Poirier's laboratory at the Douglas Hospital Research Center, he became Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Québec at Trois-Rivieres in 1999 and Associate Professor at INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier in 2004.

He is an affiliated professor at the University Laval and a regular member of the Institute of Nutraceuticals and Functionnal Foods (INAF, University Laval).

Dr. Ramassamy's research programs involve the understanding of the neurobiology of oxidative stress and of antioxidants using cell culture and animal models as well biochemistry, pharmacology, cellular and molecular tools.
